Long time, no update. Sorry about that. I was in training all last week and didn't really have much to say. However, now I do! The following paragraph may be TMI for some people. Read with caution.

I had my first OB appt last Friday, the 6th. I saw a nurse practitioner who had just gotten back from maternity leave herself two weeks earlier. My first impressions of the office are very good. They have both OB/GYNs and CNM's (Certified Nurse Midwives) so I can have either. Kris and I haven't decided which one we'd like to go with. Anyway, back to the details! They took all my vitals - blood pressure was good, urine was clean (of protein and whatever else they look for) and they took some blood. They said they'd only call with results if they were out of the ordinary. The nurse practioner went over this big binder they gave me. It had info in there on everything from pregnancy to infant care to crib safety and more. There was also some information on tests they could run and the pre-registration for for the hospital. I have to have that done by 34 weeks. Got some time on that one. After going through all that she had me hop up on the table to do some internal checking around. She said everything looks and feels just as it should for being 10 weeks along although she did find some polyps she wants a doctor to check out. Then she used the doppler machine to listen to the heartbeat. After trying for a while, she just couldn't find it. She told me not to worry, that everything else is looking just fine and that my pelvic bone is still hiding most of my uterus and the doppler just can't get down that far. So, I have an appt to go back in two weeks. At that time, the doctor will check the polyps to make sure they are the benign kind and listen for the heartbeat again. I should have grown enough by then that they should be able to hear it externally. If they can't for some reason, they will order an ultrasound. So, bottom line? I needed that heartbeat and didn't get it. Doesn't mean it's not there, just means I didn't get the reassurance that I needed. So...please don't tell anyone yet.

So, there, that's my update. I'll try to update more often now that I'm not at training.
