We bought paint for the nursery this weekend! The room is going to be painted "Pale Daffodil" by Behr. There's also going to be a green stripe running through the middle of the room and that is going to be "Peridot", also by Behr. On the green stripe, Kris is going to paint animals that match the animals on the bedding. He even started sketching them out tonight on Paint on his computer. It's going to look so cute! Today, I finished cleaning out my office. We only have to move the desk out and it will be ready to tape and paint! Progress!

A couple new things today but none of them really pregnancy related.

1 - I added a new photo album up above. Click on the bunny again and you'll see an Easter 2004 album now. They're just a couple pictures from Dad's house on Easter Sunday. The group photo is of (l-r) Krystle (my sister), Dad, Me, Kris, Mathias (my brother), Amy (Mathias' girlfriend). The photo of Kris by himself is hilarious, I think. It shows his "I'm being an asshole" smirk/grin fabulously. He must have made some wise-ass comment and was all proud of himself for it. Good job to Krystle for catching him in the act!

2 - I added comments to this blog. So, if you'd like to respond to anything I've written, all you have to do is click on the "Something To Say?" at the bottom of each entry and you can comment on that entry! Have fun with this!

Everything else is going great. I'm hoping to clean out the rest of the nursery tonight so we can maybe even paint it this weekend! We'll see how much gets accomplished. I always have great ambitions and not enough time or energy.

Have a great weekend! I have training all next week again so I don't know how much I'll be able to post.

Don't you just love over the timeline where it says "Only 133 days left?" Yeah, only 133. Let's skip the only until we're, say, 30 days left or something.

Today, I had a friend ask me what a Level II ultrasound was. I found this great page (click here) that describes all the different types of ultrasounds and why they are typically done. Towards the bottom of the page under the title "The Schedule" it explains why a Level II is done. We'll be targeting the heart, obviously. It's a very interesting page to read. Enjoy!

I just finished scanning all 7 ultrasound photos and uploaded them to the photo album. Click on the bunny up above to see them.

Want to know something frustrating? When words fly out of your head. It's been happening a lot lately. Just today I was trying to explain something to a co-worker and forgot the word 'pad' as in solder pad. Yep, I could not remember it for the life of me. It's like it just up and flew out of my head. That is so frustrating and makes me sound so stupid! Oh well. Maybe my brain will return someday. :)

I added my 15 and 20 week belly pics to the photo album above. (click on the bunny and it will take you to the photo album) I'm definitely bigger. Everything else is going well. Nothing new to report since Friday. I'll try to get the ultrasound photos scanned tomorrow night. Watch for them!

This morning was our screening ultrasound and 20 week appointment. Everything went great! The baby is measuring exactly one week ahead at 21 weeks 1 day. (I'm currently 20 weeks 1 day along.) The heart rate was 144 bpm on both the ultrasound and the doppler. She measured the head, abdomen, femur and looked at the limbs, profile, kidneys, heart, etc. She couldn't get a good look at the heart and with a family history of heart defects (a cousin of mine was born with a hole in his heart and he unfortunately died at 7 months old), they ordered a Level II ultrasound for me with a fetal echocardiogram. I have scheduled that for the first week of May. I'm not worried that they'll find a heart defect but I am glad that they are taking the necessary precautions.

She wasn't able to tell the baby's gender. She said she thought girl but that we should "keep our receipts." Kris and I both think it's a girl but until we have confirmation (yeah, right - that'll be on it's birth day!) we're going to keep thinking we don't know. Maybe the Level II ultrasound will confirm the gender for us.

I'm so relieved we had such great results, especially after waking up last night 3 times with "intestinal issues" and throwing up at 3 am. Yeah, I'm not sure where that all came from but maybe it was nerves. I can relax now.

As soon as I can, I'll scan in the ultrasound pics and put them in the photo album. I also took 20 week belly photos that I'll post along with the 15 week photos from (!) 5 weeks ago.

Yay! Kris and I ordered a crib last night! Click here to see it. I love it and I can't wait to get it and set it up and putting the bedding on it and everything! We bought it in the cherry pine finish since our bedding is so light in color. Kris wanted something darker in the room to offset that. The dresser we'll be using is a dark color as well. I think it will look a lot like the one in the pictures as far as color goes. It should be here in 4-6 weeks or around June 7th, they said. Yay! Until then, we can focus on getting the room completely cleared out (my desk is still in there) as well as painting and whatever else we want to do.

Did you know that you can see the bedding set by clicking on Arcadia in the post below? I realized after posting that you can only see the links in the text if you move your mouse over them. Then, the words turn green and you can tell it's a link. Maybe I'll hide more links in my text and it can be a weird little game I play. Yeah, definitely too much time on my hands, I think.

20 weeks pregnant tomorrow! And Friday is our ultrasound! Can't wait!!!

Shopping on Saturday was a blast. We actually bought something too! We now have bedding for our little one! We purchased the Arcadia set from Kids Line. It's so pretty and soft and not too girly or too boyish. I'm so excited! We also found a few cribs we like. Tonight, we're going to go order a crib and glider/chair. Did you know they take 4-6 weeks on average to come in? I had no idea! I just assumed you went to the store, bought it and took it home! Nope, it's like any other piece of furniture and you have to order it. I'm glad we know that now so we can get it ordered and home in time to put it together and the rest of the room decorated. I think we're going to paint the room a very pale yellow with a light green border around the middle of the room. Then, Kris is going to paint animals on the green border to tie in the bedding. It's going to be so cute!

I can feel the baby more and more every day. Maybe I just know what to look for now or maybe the baby is getting stronger, either way, I love it!

Not much is new around here. I found out about an 8th person expecting a baby! Phivu's wife is pregnant and I think, due in August. I will be so happy for them when their baby gets here safe and sound. I'm sure they are excited and scared all at the same time. Their first baby died of SIDS last year at 4 months old. There are other heartbreaking stories of baby loss around work too and I just keep wondering why Kris and I continue to be so blessed. This pregnancy has been textbook sor far (knock on wood). I read my baby book and everything it says should be happening is and I'm not having any scary things happening like weird cramps or spotting. Thank you God.

So, I think I'm feeling the baby move a little more now. I'm still not certain that I know what I'm feeling is the baby and not just gas or digestion or something though. However, this morning it felt like tiny bubbles were rising in my stomach. That's what the pregnancy book says it could feel like. C'mon baby - punch and kick hard so this first time mommy knows it's you! Of course, I'll be taking those words back in a few months when it *hurts* when the baby is kicking me hard. :)

I had a dream last night that during our ultrasound, they said the baby was in the breech position and I said to the baby "Please don't be like Auntie Krystle - behave!" My sister's head was stuck in my mom's ribs and couldn't be turned so my mom had to have a Caesarean. Now, you behave down there little one! Mommy said so! Ha!

It's been a while since my last post, I know. I'm sorry. Last week I was in training all week and it took a lot of after hours time as well. Tuesday I didn't get home until 9:15. Wednesday I didn't get home until 10:15 and Thursday I didn't get home until 1:15! Luckily that tough week is behind me and I don't foresee any more like that in the future.

Baby Updates:

- I think I've felt the baby move twice now! Last week Wednesday at 3am I was awake and lying in bed when I felt this tiny jab on the left side of my stomach. Since my pregnancy book says the baby will be most active between 8pm and 6am, I really think it was the baby that I felt. Then today, during a meeting at work, it felt like someone ran their finger across my stomach from the inside. I think it was the baby again! The meeting was a little contentious at times so maybe the baby just wanted to get it's $0.02 in too! :)

- We're having a baby boom here at work. There are seven of us expecting this year now! Robyn in June, Annette in July, me in September, Michelle, Lisa and Tom's wife in October and Ying in November! There's not that many female engineers here and we were joking today at lunch that half of them are pregnant right now! Yay for babies!

- This Saturday, Kris and I are going to do some baby shopping. We'll specifically be looking for a crib, glider/rocker and bedding. We've asked our moms if they'd like to go with us. I have Friday off this week and I'm going to use that day to clean out the rest of my office so it's all ready for painting and decorating!

- Next week Friday (the 16th) is my ultrasound appointment! I can't wait to see the baby! I hope I'm feeling it move consistently by then. I'm not that big but Amanda and Pam said it definitely looks like I'm pregnant. Of course, they know I am so I don't know if someone who didn't know could tell or if they would think I'm just pudgy in the middle. I'll take 20 week pictures next Wednesday and then upload those with the 15 week ones.

- Tomorrow is 19 weeks along! Only 5 more weeks until are baby is viable outside the womb! (meaning it would have a 50% chance of surviving at that point) Each milestone that passes eases my anxiety a bit (first trimester, 20 week ultrasound, 24 week viability, etc.)

And that is all for today.
