How about some Annika highlights!

We have a whole bunch of the Peek-A-Blocks (love those!) and Kris and I will stack them up one on top of another. Annika loves to gently, oh so gently, knock them all over. Then Kris and I cheer and Annika bounces. Then we stack the blocks again, etc. We also have the stackable cups from Discovery Toys and we do the same thing with those. She thinks it's a great game.

Another game Annika and I play is roll the ball. We sit facing each other and I roll a ball to her. It lands in her lap and she "pushes" it back to me, not to gracefully at this point, I might add. When she pushes it back though I clap and cheer and generally make a goof of myself. Annika loves it though. She has even started to "clap" back! She kind of bangs her hands together when I do. Pretty soon she'll have the coordination to slap her palms together. I'm just proud that she has the cognitive ability to even clap back!

She has also started to wave bye-bye a little bit. She doesn't do it very often, but I think she does get it. Someone will wave bye-bye to her and she'll wave her arm back sometimes. I'm still not certain she's just not flailing to flail and that she's actually waving, but I'm sure she's close to figuring it out.

Last night was a bad night for Annika though. We took a walk yesterday to get some lunch and Annika was a drooling monster the whole time. She had these huge drools that would hang down 10+ inches from her face! I'm not kidding! Then yesterday afternoon when she woke up from her nap, she was so crabby and crying for no apparent reason. And she was still a drool monster. My monther instincts (ha!) told me she was teething. So, Kris and I gave her some cold teething toys and some baby tylenol and rocked and comforted her. She had a pretty rough evening though. My poor baby girl. She slept pretty well though. She didn't wake crying at all, just every 1-2 hours to nurse. Kris and I poked around and looked in her mouth but couldn't tell where the tooth was coming in. She was chewing on her pacifier on one side of her mouth though. And she bit me a couple times while nursing. Hopefully she'll have a better day today.
