Yep, that about sums up our holiday weekend. It was great! What, you want more detail? OK, here we go...

Saturday was a lazy, hang around the house day for us. Grandma Lona and Grandpa Dale came over to pick up one our extra computer monitors and stayed for a while to play with Annika. That afternoon, we ran a couple errands before settling in for the night. Sunday we went to the Minnesota Zoo. We had a great time and it was an absolutely beautiful day outside. Annika particularly liked the fish because there is constant motion for her to watch. She also enjoyed the tiger because he was moving around and making noise. The rest of the animals were fairly tame so Annika watched the people around her instead. When we arrived back home, Annika and I sat down to nurse. She nursed well on one side. When she sat up, she coughed a couple tiny little coughs. Thinking nothing of it, I laid her down to eat on the other side. She coughed a little and then she threw up all over me. It was on my clothes, her clothes and the recliner. At least it was just the milk she had just eaten, but still, eeewww! Kris came and cleaned up Annika while I cleaned myself up. Then, Annika and I went to a different chair so she could finish eating while Kris cleaned the recliner. I don't know why she got sick, but she was fine the rest of the evening. I'm wondering if she didn't just have a gas bubble or two that needed to come out and so everything else came out with it. She didn't cry or even fuss after doing it. Weird. Anyway, Auntie Krystle came over that evening to play with us and while playing in Annika's bedroom, Auntie Krystle stood Annika up and told her to go to Mommy. I was sitting just a couple feet away and Annika walked from Auntie Krystle to me! Sure, they were tiny, wobbly baby steps, but she did it!

Yesterday we had a very nice afternoon at Grandpa Dan's house. Uncle Mathias set up the trampoline and Kris put Annika on it. Then, he bounced the trampoline around her. She loved it, laughing and smiling the whole time. It was a beautiful day once again, so we grilled and ate outside on the deck. Annika had bun and baked beans for lunch with some strawberries and whipped cream for dessert. :) After she was done eating, Kris put her down on the deck. Uncle Mathias' cat was on the deck and Annika kept crawling after the cat. The cat would just stop and let Annika get her. Annika would then grab the cat's fur. I was worried the cat would hiss or swat at Annika but it never did. We made sure to keep a close eye on it though. The cat would run away and Annika would crawl over to it again. Annika thought that was a fun game. Later that afternoon, while playing inside, Annika walked from Daddy to Mommy! Then she took a few steps with Uncle Mathias and Grandpa Dan. Annika only had about a 1/2 hour nap that morning so by 5pm she was pretty tired and we headed home. Annika slept the entire way and then slept for another hour at home - until 7pm! I thought bed time and night time were going to be horrendous. Instead, we played with toys and took a bath and when Kris put her to bed at 9:30pm, she went down just fine. I finally went to bed at 11pm, after doing some Pampered Chef work. I told Kris to bring her to me (she was in her crib) when she woke up. She didn't wake up until 2am! Dang! I wish I had gone to bed earlier so I could have had more uninterruped sleep! I think that is the longest Annika has slept in months. She has been a 2-3 hour girl for as long as I can remember but lately it's been 45 minutes to 2 hours because she was teething. I hope, hope, hope that she'll start sleeping longer now. Of course, she was then up at 3:30am, 4:30am and was still sleeping when I left at 6:30am.

OK, that's enough for today. Have a great (short) week everyone!
