Saturday was a busy day. First up was the CAbi season end sale. I scored another pair of pants for the summer plus one of the two items I had on reserve. The other was not finished being laundered. When I got home from that, we had lunch and then I was down for a nap. Annika had fallen asleep in the bike trailer on the way home from the park so she stayed up with Daddy while I slept. I tried to get her to sleep with me but she was strongly opposed to that idea and kept wanting to play! Since I was all relaxed from laying down, I stayed there and handed her off to Kris. After I woke up, we headed out to my cousin's graduation party. Annika, of course, fell asleep in the car on the way there, scoring about a 45 minute nap. After the grad party, it was time to head to party number two - my uncle's 50th birthday party. A few of my cousins were there, including Jason and Jennie and there 2 year old son (as of May 12th, I think) Jack. He and Annika didn't really play together so much as near each other. Annika had a great time on the swingset in the back yard and on the trampoline next door. The trampoline had a net all the way around it so the kids couldn't fall out, plus some of my other cousins and cousins fiances jumped with them. Annika was having so much fun that she cried when it was time to go home. It was an hour after her bedtime though so we couldn't stay too much longer. Plus, it was starting to get chilly and I didn't have anything with me for Annika to wear.

Sunday morning Kris woke up feeling awful. We think he got some food poisoning from something he ate on Saturday but we're not sure where or what it was. He spent most of Sunday resting though. Annika and I made a couple trips out of the house. One was to Circuit City where I picked up my birthday present - a Canon PowerShot SD700 IS digital camera! I am so spoiled! I love my new camera. I've taken a bunch of pictures already. I'll work tonight to get some uploaded to the photo album. Now I need to figure out how to work all my new features!

We were supposed to go out to dinner Sunday night with our neighbors Andrew and Katie but Kris was feeling too awful for that. We cancelled on them (boo!) but ended up chatting with them for a little while in the driveway!

Happy birthday to me! I turned 30 years old yesterday. You know, I think I'm going to like this decade. We all know that I was never cool! And I was never much of a club crawler, preferring to spend my nights at home with Kris or with a small group of friends. I think the 30's are going to be good. I think I'm suited for them. A lovely birthday it was too. Annika was kind enough to sleep in late, spending the last hour of her sleeping time snuggled up between Kris and I. Krystle and I had a spa day yesterday. We spent 4 hours getting massages, facials, pedicures and manicures. It was so relaxing. I think I fell asleep during part of the facial! After that, Krystle and I picked up Mathias' birthday gift. His 21st birthday is Saturday. Then we stopped for lunch before heading back to our house. I received one card in the mail (Lynn), two happy birthday phone calls (Grandpa, Mathias) and three happy birthday e-cards (Amanda, Gramme and Pam). Everything was great until last night when Annika was crawling around on the couch. She crawled up to the top and before I knew it, she had fell off the back! She cried right away and I scooped her up and snuggled with her. She was fine a few minutes later until I tried putting some ice on the bruise forming by her right eye. Then she started crying again. I tried putting some ice on it for the next half hour but she kept resisting each time. I'm hoping she's doing okay today and that the bruise isn't too nasty. I'll have to be more diligent with her and her climbing. I'm also hoping this scared her a bit, as awful as that sounds, so that she doesn't climb up on things so much. After it happened, I called Kris at work to tell him that I had damaged the baby. OK, I didn't so much as damage her as I didn't prevent her from damaging herself! Oh, the guilt!
