We have sprinklers! They tested our sprinklers yesterday. I think there is more work to be done in the backyard still but at least they're working on it! I talked with our neighbors Andrew and Katie last night and Katie said she called the builder again (she's been calling weekly since March) and they told her we should have grass within 2 weeks. Yay! Finally! Now it's time to make plans to build that deck! I'm hoping to have that done before the summer's over.
Annika has always been a mama's girl. Lately whenever I'm home she is super clingy to me. She has to be in whatever room I'm in and if she wants to go somewhere else (like downstairs to get some milk for example) I have to go with her. Daddy just won't do. While I secretly love this, it does make things difficult sometimes. There is one person though that trumps even Mommy. That would be Elmo. Yesterday I had to call into a meeting while working from home and the only way Annika would go with Kris was for him to bribe her with Elmo. That girl LOVES Elmo. Aren't we the best parents ever? Bribing our child with TV (Elmo for goodness sakes!) at such a young age? Oh well. You gotta do what you gotta do.
I think Annika is getting close to being ready for potty training. She's been peeing on the potty for quite some time now. Kris sits her on it after most meals. Lately though, she's been recognizing when she needs to go. Yesterday she looked at me and said "poopy?" I think she had to actually pee at the time but hey, she's recognizing it! If Kris and I wanted to, we could probably start the training now. It just seems like so much work when she is still this little though.
There are babies everywhere again! My friend Jen announced her pregnancy a couple weeks ago. Congratulations Jen and Jim, Audrey and Ava! Also, yesterday I found out my cousin Melissa had a little boy on June 7th. Congratulations Melissa and Ben!
