Well, we had sprinklers. Until it monsooned Friday night and the dirt washed over and covered them all up. The landscapers will have to come back out, uncover them and test them again. Oh what fun! Another delay in getting grass!

Otherwise, we had a lovely weekend. Kris had a nice Father's Day yesterday I think. He got a table saw from Annika. She and I picked it out on Saturday. We started the day off with brunch downtown with Nana, Papa, Uncle Dusty and Aunt Kim. Annika was a perfect little girl during brunch. She's always such a good girl in restaurants. After brunch we headed over to the Como Zoo. Annika had a great time watching the monkeys, zebras, lions, giraffes, etc. We didn't have a stroller with us but she was content to walk or sit on somebody's shoulders. She could see better that way anyway. And of course she was spoiled rotten (two frozen ice treats shared with Uncle Dusty and Papa and then part of Uncle Dusty's ice cream cone too!).

After the zoo we headed to Grandpa Dan's house for a BBQ with him, Marcia and Auntie Krystle. Annika had fun exploring and playing in the backyard. Grandpa has lots of bird houses and feeders. Annika got to see three birdhouses full of eggs. There were also lots of birds by the feeders including an oriole, woodpecker and cardinal. It was a nice, relaxing afternoon.

And when we got home there was still more excitement! Our neighbors Andrew and Katie got a new puppy yesterday. When we got home, I rang their bell so we could meet the little guy. His name is Gusty and he is absolutely adorable. He's only 2.5 pounds right now. Annika was too shy (Katie's family was over celebrating Father's Day) to show much attention to the puppy but she did pet him once. When I put her down she took off and ran back to our house and into our garage. Andrew loves playing with her so he and Annika started chasing each other around the driveway.

It was a jam packed day yesterday. Luckily this week is the exact opposite. We have no plans (other than scrapbooking tonight with Auntie Krystle) and no plans this weekend. Jon and Michelle are moving out of their condo this weekend so Kris may have to go help with that. And now I'm going to go call home and check on my family.
