What a fun, but busy, weekend! Friday night was spent getting ready for Saturday's party. Saturday morning was busy getting the food ready. Then Annika and I took a 2.5 hour nap, waking up just in time to hop in the shower (Annika loves taking showers - she stands under the water and just lets it beat down on her upper back - it's too cute) before guests started arriving. I think my 30th birthday party was a success. There was a lot of people and a lot of food. People were both inside the house and in the garage so Kris and I tag-teamed. He spent all of his time outside since he was grilling and I spent all my time inside. I didn't want my guests to not have a host around. After all the inside people left I joined my friends who were still outside. They stayed for another couple hours. I think everyone was gone by 11:30pm. Annika had a great time playing with all the kids that were there. We brought out her jumping castle and the kids (all who are 7 and under) loved it! I didn't hear of any fights or injuries (whew!). I think Annika spent most of her time in it herself. Every time I'd ask where she was, since I was in the house, someone would say "jumping."

Sunday after we were done doing some clean up, Auntie Krystle came over again. She was our babysitter for the day so Kris and I could go on a charity motorcycle ride. Yesterday was the first time I had been on my bike since Mother's Day of last year! It ended up raining on us for part of the ride so we left early and came home. I was so cold! My jeans were drenched and my hands were so cold that they were cramping up. We were out for 4 hours or so and I figured that was long enough for my first day out. There were a whole bunch of bikes out there too. It was pretty cool to be part of this long line of bikes going down the road. We even had a police escort through Savage to get us started.

Now we have a pretty low key week. Thursday is the only night Annika and I have plans (dinner with Grandpa, Krystle and Mathias to celebrate our birthdays). It's good to have weeks like this. It makes the busy weekends more tolerable!
