I missed my first day in December posting yesterday. I was too tired last night to think of something to say.

Today's excitement was at lunch time. We headed to our local mall to visit Santa. Annika has been asking to see him and was excited to see him for about a week now. We explained that she would sit on his lap and tell him what she wanted and then we would take a picture. All this morning and at the mall on our way to see him it was all about Santa. We get to the area he's in and guess what! No lines! We waltzed right up to him and Annika freaked out. She was a monkey and attached herself to my hip and there was nothing that was going to get her down. We let another family go ahead of us and she watched that little girl and boy get their picture taken, tell Santa what they want and get their little coloring book souvenir. We asked Annika if she wanted Mommy or Daddy to sit with her and Santa and that was also a no. There was nothing we said or did that would convince her Santa wasn't scary. So, we gave up on the Santa picture and had some lunch instead. I was disappointed but I also wasn't going to make her sit on his lap. I don't need to traumatize the poor girl. We may try again next week or we may just scrap it all together for this year.
